The Inver Grove Heights School Board met on Monday, May 19. As a reminder, the April 28 regular meeting was postponed to a special meeting on May 12 due to inclement weather. The following items were on the May 19 agenda:
District Highlight
- Inver Grove Heights Schools (ISD 199) Superintendent Dave Bernhardson presented Simley Language Arts and CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) Teacher Carol Sayre, recognizing her for being named a BestPrep Educator of Excellence. Ms. Sayre talked about the immersive opportunities that BestPrep offers to prepare students for the professional world.
- Simley High School Activities Director Will Short gave an update on spring activities, including the new girls flag football team and Simley Adapted Bowling’s outstanding State appearance.

Information Items
- Pine Bend Elementary School Principal Paul Richardson provided a school year update. Student Council members spoke about their year and activities, Rachael Mollo talked about the success of the UFLI literacy curriculum, and the school’s Student Success Coaches and Learning Partner gave an overview of their approaches to supporting classrooms so students can stay in class and engaged in learning.
- ISD 199 Director of Business Services Heather Aune gave a 2025-2026 Budget Update.
ISD 199 Director of Learning Megan Blazek and Director of Instructional Technology Caroline Little gave an update on the Simley Class of 2024 Graduation Rates.
