Inver Grove Heights hosts a weekend of fun and information for all of its residents each year. IGH Days features organizations from across the community, including a number of student and staff representatives from Inver Grove Heights Schools (ISD 199). This year, ISD 199 staff and partners highlighted information about the school district’s upcoming referendum. Those who couldn’t attend or want more information can visit

Even before the weekend began, Pine Bend Elementary School student, Mellea, started off the IGH Days celebration with artwork for the 2024 IGH Days button. She was featured in the parade on Saturday, September 7.
The parade also featured ISD 199 staff and students in school organizations as well as community programs. Student athletes from Simley High School’s football, softball team, bowling team, and more handed out candy and information along the parade route. Simley Soccer helped Dakota County Commissioner Joe Atkins collect food donations for the local Neighbors, Inc. Food Shelf.
The Simley Marching Band and Simley Dance Team performed for audience members throughout the parade, previewing their skills and their routines for this season.
ISD 199 educators and school board members welcomed students back to school as some walked with their families and others handed out candy and information about the November 5 referendum. ISD 199 students of all ages were also present at the parade to represent local sports associations, businesses, and pageants hosted by community groups.
The next day, the school district and its programs provided information and resources and answered questions at the Explore IGH Business Expo. The booth featured activities and balloon animals for kids and community members. More information is available at

Inver Grove Heights organiza un fin de semana de diversión e información para todos sus residentes cada año. El equipo de fútbol de Simley ayudó al comisionado del condado de Dakota, Joe Atkins, a recolectar donaciones de alimentos para el banco de alimentos local Neighbors, Inc.
