District Highlight
- Inver Grove Heights Schools (ISD 199) Positive Community Norms Grant Coordinator Amy Powers-Johnson and the Simley High School Spartan SPARC student organization talked about their current work to get the sale of flavored tobacco banned in Inver Grove Heights. Students shared that MOST Simley and Inver Grove Heights Middle School students DON’T vape, but to further prevent more kids from trying and potentially getting addicted to vaping, the city should ban the sale of flavored vapes that are easily targeted at kids. Students shared stories of those around them who have become addicted to vaping, and they asked individuals on the school board and in the audience to help advocate for a ban on flavored vapes in the city.
