Bands across Inver Grove Heights Schools (ISD 199) joined together for a 5th-grade, middle school, and high school Bridging Concert. Each band performed with their class to demonstrate what they have learned this year before all of the bands played a song together.
Fifth graders from Hilltop, Pine Bend, and Salem Hills elementary schools and the Atheneum Gifted Magnet Program each played a song with their school band. The classic songs showcased the skills they’ve learned in their first year of band. Inver Grove Heights Middle School students from the Intro Band class played “Old MacDonald” and “When the Saints Go Marching In,” and then the 8th-grade band played “Dawn of the Spartans.” The Simley High School Wind Ensemble wrapped up individual class performances with selections from the musical “Wicked.” At the end of the concert, all of the bands played a song together as their finale.
The concert was a great opportunity for students to collaborate and learn from each other. It taught older students leadership as they modeled concert etiquette for the younger students. It also gave younger students an idea of what opportunities they will have in the future if they continue in the band program. Those who attended also saw how students progress in the district’s band program over time.

Las bandas de Inver Grove Heights Schools (ISD 199) se unieron para un Concierto de Conexión (Bridging Concert) para estudiantes de 5º grado, intermedia y secundaria. Cada banda actuó con su clase para demostrar lo aprendido este año, antes de que todas las bandas interpretaran una canción juntas.
Los alumnos de quinto grado de las escuelas primarias Hilltop, Pine Bend y Salem Hills, así como del Programa Atheneum para Alumnos Dotados, interpretaron una canción con la banda de su escuela. Las canciones clásicas demostraron las habilidades que adquirieron en su primer año en la banda. Los alumnos de la clase de Introducción a la Banda de la Escuela Intermedia Inver Grove Heights interpretaron "Old MacDonald" y "When the Saints Go Marching In", y luego la banda de octavo grado interpretó "Dawn of the Spartans". El Conjunto de Viento de Simley High School concluyó las presentaciones individuales de cada clase con selecciones del musical "Wicked". El concierto fue una gran oportunidad para que los estudiantes colaboraran y aprendieran unos de otros.
