APPLICATION PROCESS

The application process for the 2019-2020 school year is now closed.

If more spots are available in the Atheneum Gifted Magnet Program, the process will be opened again later in the spring.  You are still welcome to attend one of our two remaining tours of the Atheneum program.  

STEP 1: Attend a Tour

We offer select dates for families to tour Atheneum. During the guided tour, parents will visit our classrooms, meet our teachers and see the program in action!

All tours start at 9 am and last approximately one hour.  Please meet at the Salem Hills/Atheneum front office where you will be asked to sign in.

-Thursday, April 4th
-Thursday, May 23rd

STEP 2: Complete the Online Application

This application is for families who live out-of-district.

WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE ATHENEUM PROGRAM
FOR THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR.  

ISD 199 Families
  • All first and second grade students in ISD 199 are screened for Gifted and Talented services, including eligibility for the Atheneum Gifted Magnet Program.
  • ISD 199 parent/guardians of students in grade 3 and 4 who meet the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) criteria may request re-evaluation by contacting Rachel McLaughlin (Department of Learning) at 651-306-7469 or mclaughlinr@isd199.org.

STEP 3: Eligibility Testing
After attending a tour and completing the Atheneum application, families need to complete the eligibility testing.  To learn more about this final step, you can find information on the Eligibility Testing page.  

​UPDATED 3/1/2019:​  The Atheneum Eligibility Testing process is now closed.  If there are spots available, the process will be opened up again in mid-April 2019.
