The extra-curricular speech program offers students the opportunity to develop their public speaking skills. The confidence to speak to groups is vital for academic, business, and community life. In fact, when asked their greatest fear, the majority of Americans’ response was “public speaking.” Participating in speech conquers that fear!
No matter what the interest, ability, or experience of the student, there is a place for every individual in competitive speech. The program’s primary goal is to provide students with the knowledge, confidence, experience, and success to be effective communicators.
Involvement in speech develops personal communications skills, deepens resolve to succeed, and becomes a treasured high school memory.
