Pine Bend Music Students Take to the Orff
Pine Bend Orff
Talented musicians recently composed pieces of work at Pine Bend Elementary School.

Fourth-graders composed works of art for their recorders; the fifth grade classes wrote their own compositions on the Orff.

Students learned about orchestration and experimented with different combinations before they settled on rondo (sometimes called the "refrain") for the form:  ABACADA.

The students worked on composition for three class periods, practiced their own songs during the fourth class period, and then settled on the orchestration and practiced during the fifth class period.
