Important Information
Office Hours at Hilltop Elementary are 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
Please remember thal ALL visitors must check in at the office and obtain a visitor's pass before proceeding to other areas in the building. If you are dropping something off for your child, please do this through the main office to minimize classroom interruptions. For safety and security reasons, we greatly appreciate your assistance and understanding in these matters.

Telephone numbers
Please use the attendance office number at the top of this page if you must report your child absent or late for school. A parent or guardian must call the attendance office for any student who will be absent or late for school for any reason each and every time that students will be absent or late.

If the school does not receive a call, the office will contact the student's parent/guardian. Any absences not reported to the office will be unexcused.

Please note that when a student is late coming to school, a parent/guardian must come into the office to check them in. Our goal is to have good communication between parents and the school.

Students who are walking or being dropped off in the morning should not arrive at school any earlier than 8:15 a.m. as Hilltop staff are busy preparing for the day and are unable to supervise students. When the bell rings at 8:15 a.m., students are allowed to enter the building to go to their lockers, classrooms or breakfast.

Parking
The handicapped accessible parking area should only be used by those with permits. Please do not park in the posted areas without a visible permit.

Lost and Found
Lost and found articles are placed in the lost and found area in the cafeteria. Valuables are turned into the office for safekeeping. Each year mittens, sweaters, caps, boots, etc. are turned into the lost and found and never claimed. Please clearly label your child's belongings with his or her full name. Lost articles that are not claimed will be given to charity.

Wednesday Folders
Wednesday folders are a key to maintaining communication between teachers and parents. The folders are sent home with students and contain important reminders, information and schoolwork.

Let's all dress for the weather
Please check as your children leave home each morning to see that they are properly dressed for the weather conditions. Since all children are to go outside to get some fresh air and exercise at recess time, it is important that they wear warm coats, hats and mittens. Thank you for helping your child stay comfortable in our Minnesota weather.
