Enrolling in Our Schools



Enrolling in Kindergarten for 2011-2012
Minnesota requirements for kindergarten entrance are:

  • Child must be five years of age by Sept. 1, 2011.
  • Child must have all required immunizations to enter school (unless parents have filed a medical exemption signed by a health care provider or a notarized conscientious objection signed by the parent or guardian).
  • Child must have had early childhood screening.
  • If possible, please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate, baptismal certificate or other verification of his/her legal name and birth date when registering your child in ISD 199 schools.

Inver Grove Heights Community Schools offers free all-day kindergarten.

If you have not registered your child for kindergarten in ISD 199 and/or are seeking enrollment in a kindergarten program please contact the district office at 651-306-7825.

If for any reason your child of kindergarten age will not be attending Inver Grove Heights Community Schools, please call Bev Mueller at 651-306-7101.

If your child is to be picked up at an address other than his or her home address (for example, daycare) be sure to complete that portion on the enrollment form.

Students in Grades 1 - 5
To enroll a student entering grades 1-5, please see an enrollment advisor at the District Office (2990 80th St. E., Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076) or contact the district office at 651-306-7825.

If possible, please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate, baptismal certificate or other verification of his/her legal name and birth date when registering your child in ISD 199 schools.

Students in Grades 6 - 8
All district students in grades 6 - 8 will attend Inver Grove Heights Middle School. The enrolling secretary for the middle school is in the counseling office. In the summer, enrollment packets are available and accepted in the main office.

If possible, please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate, baptismal certificate or other verification of his/her legal name and birth date when registering your child in ISD 199 schools.

Students in Grades 9 - 12
All district students in grades 9 - 12 will attend Simley High School. The enrolling secretary at Simley High School is in the guidance and counseling office. Entrance to the high school is through Door E.

If possible, please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate, baptismal certificate or other verification of his/her legal name and birth date when registering your child in ISD 199 schools.
