Early Childhood Screening
What is Early Childhood Screening? Early Childhood Screening is a check of a child's vision, hearing,
height, weight, immunizations, speech and language, motor skills and
general development. It is a state mandate for Kindergarten entrance.
When should screening be completed? In order to ensure school success, screenings are done at about three
and a half years old, so parents can gain information and resources for
readiness in school. Children are screened one at a time and individual
attention is given to the needs of the child and family.
How do I schedule an appointment? Screenings are scheduled throughout the school year, are free and take
about one hour. Please call when your child is 3 and a half years old,
and schedule an appointment.
What is the phone number? 651-306-7520
Where is screening held? Screening takes place at the Early Learning Center, 3203 68th Street E. , Inver Grove Heights.
