BUS TRANSPORTATION REGISTRATION

Register Every School Year
ISD 199 now requires families who will need transportation to register for it every school year. This new process will ensure that the district has the most updated and accurate information for each student to ensure their safety from pick-up to drop-off.

4-year-old Preschool
Transportation for 4-year-old preschool students is available on a limited basis. Requests will be prioritized based on need. Bus transportation may be available for students whose home or daycare address falls within the school boundary area. It is also important to note that preschool children may be transported with K-5 students.

Kindergarten Through 12th-grade
Any family who will need transportation for their child must complete the ISD 199 Bus Registration form for that school year:

Click to register for K-12 Bus Registration
Please complete ONE FORM PER CHILD that needs transportation

To update your child's bus registration any time after you register, click the bus registration for the appropriate school year above and fill our the form again. Families may need to update their bus registration if their busing needs have changed because of a new pick up or drop off address, they no longer need transportation, etc.

Bus Safety Guidelines

Students in kindergarten through 10th grade will receive school bus safety instruction during the first week of school. All students must demonstrate competency in at least seven basic areas of bus safety. Click here for the ISD 199 Bus Safety Guidelines.
  • Students in grades K-3 must demonstrate competency by the end of the third week of school.
  • Students in grades 4-10 must demonstrate competency by the end of the sixth week of school.
  • Parents should also be familiar with school district rules and policies regarding transportation and should help to make sure their children understand them. Parents are encouraged to monitor bus stops and communicate any safety concerns to school administrators.
Parents/guardians are responsible for the student’s safety to and from the bus stop. In the event that bus service is delayed, parents/guardians should be prepared to assume responsibility for the student’s welfare until the bus arrives.

Students need to arrive at their bus stop at least 5-10 minutes prior to the scheduled pick up times. If the student is not outside and visible at the stop on time, the bus driver will continue on the route. The bus driver will not return for a student who is not at the bus stop on time. The parent/guardian is responsible for providing alternative transportation in these cases.

As students wait for the bus, they must respect the property of the neighbors around them. They are not to walk through yards or be near the house where the stop is located. If students create issues at the bus stop location, ISD 199 Transportation has the right to remove them from that bus stop.
