AP Statistics Students Take Barbie Bungee Jumping
Barbie Bungee
November 4, 2010

Advanced Placement Statistics students used their knowledge of regression lines and correlation to model bungee jumping with Barbies.

Students started by tracking the measurements of the distance Barbie fell using various numbers of rubber bands.

Next they used their data to create a mathematical equation to predict how many rubber bands they would need for the given height of the final jump.

The group who gave Barbie the longest bungee jump without hitting the ground won the contest.
