SMART Board Recommendation

During the fall of 2006, the school district acquired four SMART Boards to pilot in classrooms. Two of the boards were purchased with capital outlay funds, one was donated by the Salem Hills PTSA and one was from a state grant for Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

The boards were distributed to the classrooms as follows:

  • Shared between Ben Peine (PB) and Jorge Guiral (HT) (capital outlay)
  • Shared between Tammy Gingerich (MS) and Mike Gingerich (Simley) (capital outlay)
  • Installed in the Salem Hills IMC (donated by SH PTSA)
  • Installed at Simley in a team-taught class (Social Studies and Special Ed) (UDL grant)

The recommendation for the implementation of SMART Boards is attached below.
