- Have all speakers ready for first speech meet (memorized and polished)
- Consistently place in the top five schools at small team meets
- Consistently have speakers break into finals or top eight
- Attend more meets with three rounds and a final
- Attend at least three NFL meets a year, more as we get more competitive; have students consistently break into finals
- Increase parent involvement
- Maintain and develop fund-raising efforts
- Develop and maintain publicity through newspaper articles and website
- Increase team size by five members each year (22 for 2007-2008)
- Hire additional coach
- Create an evening of speech performance for the general public. Charge $5.
- Place speech spotlight or speech meet dates on District Calendar
- Obtain a required Beginning Public Speaking course in either ninth or tenth grade
- Obtain an elective Advanced Public Speaking course in tenth through twelfth grades
- Establish a middle school speech team
